Mens Rea and Undisclosed Knowledge are Essential to Establish Criminal Negligence

A WhatsApp message has been circulating that Supreme Court has said that criminal charges are not applicable to doctors. The judgment is of 2012 and not new. It is a settled law that unless a criminal intent is proved (mens rea) or there is an element of undisclosed knowledge, criminal sections are not applicable to doctors.
