As it causes irreversible ischemic damage to uterus and its adnexae, emergency laparotomy is mandatory as a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure. We report a case of torsion of fibroid uterus in a postmenopausal woman wh o presented with an acute abdomen requiring laparotomy.
